Forest restoration projects typically involve a fragmented set of actors, each with different incentives, timelines, and information:

• Landowners — public or private owners of the land being restored.
• Municipalities & public institutions — local and regional authorities with regulatory or funding roles.
• Forestry experts — foresters, ecologists, and technical advisors who design interventions.
• Contractors — the people and equipment that carry out planting, thinning, and maintenance work.
• Funders — public grants, carbon/biodiversity credit buyers, philanthropic and impact investors.
• Researchers — academic and applied researchers studying ecological outcomes.

Part of our research is mapping how these stakeholders actually coordinate (or fail to) on real projects. That detail — named organizations, interview notes, and specific pain points — lives in the private ecosystem notes as it's gathered.
